absolutePDF just released version 1.3.5 of its PDF generation library absolutePDF-Creator Easy.
With this new release the library gains the ability to import existing PDF pages as a background for a new PDF page. This allows for big improvements in report generation: just create a complex background using your favourite PDF generation application (like OpenOffice.org) and import it into a new PDF file. Only fully conformant 1.4 PDF files may be reasonably imported, so this isn't a generic PDF stamping tool. Nonetheless this new feature will help people create complex layouts for documents created from their applications.
Using absolutePDF-Creator Easy, an ActiveX COM DLL, every Windows programmer is able to create PDF files from his own applications, with full control on the final appearance of the documents. Using the control it's possible to add images (with resing and resampling options, to minimize size), shapes and text specifying rotation, size and color and with formatting capabilities.
Extensive VB and VC++ samples and online manuals are included, and a friendly support team is usually ready to answer all questions and help solve startup and subsequent implementation problems.
The control is compatible with any COM aware development environment like VB, VC++, .NET and ASP, for web server deployment.
Pricing ranges from $9.95 for single workstation, $99 for single server to $299 for an unlimited license (royalty free).
Free 60 days trial version available from the website at http://www.abspdf.com .
