 icon Access closing quite often "crashing" using Office 10 on XP

My Access has been closing unexpectedly, "crashing" quite often.  I am at a job.  Not on my own computer.  I was given an xp machine with office 10 on it.  have been doing recompiles to correct things but just wondering if the XP/2007/2010 is an issue.  system also does auto archiving..possible issue..any thoughts...have same problems as .mdb as .accdb
