I wanted to know if there was a way to tell that the network connection has either been lost or re-established without constant polling for the server. What I mean is:

When using Windows 2000 or XP and you pull out the network cable, you get a notification in the system tray that tells you that the network has been disconnected and when you plug it back in again, you get a notification that it is back and info on the transfer speed and the like. What I would like is for my apps to be able to tell when this happens instead of having to find out through error handling when a remote object is unreachable. Thanx...
