Sell your own ActiveX controls on Isgeeky.com
Due to being bored and having lots of spare time at the weekend to do programming, and also the ideas from the people on this forum, mainly from 'VBgen' but also the inspiration of all you people asking questions out there.
So what i am asking of you is that you review the test site, i.e. have a look at all of the features and tell me what i could improve etc. You can use the "Contact Us" form or this forum or send an email to webmaster@isgeeky.com giving your opinion of the site and what improvements it needs/should have. The site is at http://test.isgeeky.com until i launch it finally, BTW ignore the missing help and about us pages i'm still writing them. Bear in mind that more ActiveX controls will be added in time, if you can think of one that you or other people would find useful then please go to the Request-a-Control page.
------> make some money. If you would like me to add an ActiveX control that you have written yourself to be sold with 80% of the profit for the control going to you or just a control to be given away for free then please contact me using the contact form on http://test.isgeeky.com or at webmaster@isgeeky.com. You will need documentation on your control giving information about your controls functions/properties and events and a promoting description (blurb and full description), look at the example controls i have added at test.isgeeky.com to see what i need and contact me if you are unsure.

Re: Isgeeky.com - Please comment on ActiveX site
hi, win_dir!
got one comment for you...
i (personally), don't think that you should use that dark a shade of blue, especially if you are using white for your background...
lighten the blue would be my suggestion. it would be nice to have blue as a main color to your site, more so that you might(and probably will) use flash for a decoration.
anyway, it was just a suggestion. good work. i always felt you were serious about this.

What do users expect to see in a help section for a site like isgeeky.com? Just an FAQ, with a support form, or what?

well, mark...
you could start by giving additional help (a link to help web pagecan be useful too) on how to purchase, or download whatever you'd have on your site.
also, you could state what problems there might be if you have previous conditions before allowing purchase or download.
but definitely the FAQ ought to be present, ait?

I have added an FAQ with search facilities, i will also be adding a few other features too. The search feature i made all of the script by myself and it actually works!

Re: Sell your own ActiveX controls on Isgeeky.com
I sometimes get someone email me interested in it, so if i like the job i usually take it, but other than that not really. I've actually started an offline computer business, basic i know, but it pays well for doing nothing.
The menu colors look a little strange, I would kept the "isgeeky.com" theme blue in the background, but add 3D button with really light texture in a different blue so it popup a little more.
The only thing that was bugging me is the Information box that follow the mouse cursor.
Also, I saw that everything is always center, personally I would kept it align on the left.
