I apologise "joeisaceuk" but i think that"ahmad" was actually looking for how the software that drives the cd rewriter works, i.e the code behind it. Please study his post carefully to understand what he means.

Did you find anything at ActiveX.com? BTW, i forgot to mention that there is no way of talking directly to the CDRW using VB. Most, if not all CDRW drivers and programs communicating directoly with the CDRW are written in C/C++
