I guess the question becomes, why do you need to close the port even after you deleted the trojan? If it's an ICQ port, and you close it, ICQ will no longer work.
Buy a firewall, they'd do it for you. There may even be some free or cheap ones.

can't we vb programmers create a certain firewall ourselves?
i mean, even at a low level, but isn't it possible?

Perhaps... firewalls are tied into the NIC/MODEM (included like the TCP/IP, File Printer sharing), acting as a filter. Not sure how to go about it offhand though.
