   I am trying out an ASP.NET Web Application. But when i try to add a new project, i get a msg saying "Unable to create Web Project 'WebApplication1'. Could not find a Web Server at 'localhost' on port 80. Please check to make sure that the web server name is valid and your proxy settings are set correctly. If you are sure that everything is correct, the web server may be temporarily out of service."   Kindly help me with this. Thanks,

You must check your IIS server settings and make sure that your windows account login has write permissions on IIS. If this is not your problem check that your default root folder for creating web applications in VS.NET is the inertpub\wwwroot..  otherwise create another virtual root in your IIS
