for 1 years i am working with vb6 and now i am picking up vb.net and already faced few interview
for .Net. but i don't under stand most of the company giving priority to C# rather than vb.net.
acording to the book there is no difference between vb.net & c# inrespect of the power.
so please tell me why should i switch to c#, is there any solid reason.

There has been an ongoing debate on this subject on the internet. My friend Fabulous and i have had Our bit of this fight(Broke a few of his VB6 fingers ). I am from a c/c++ and java background, he is from a vb.OLD background...

we finally decided that programming languages are mere tools and the job @ hand should determine which tool to use!.

So we decided to Learn BOTH C#.NET and VB.NET. What have you got to lose!  Next time you go for an interview or a client wants an application you will say i can use BOTH Languages!!!

Thats my advice .. learn both...

I.m still trying to get Fabulous to learn Java(J2EE)

Same principle learn both plartforms .. don't be lazy Fabulous

hehe, I just installed Fedora Core 1 and Mono.net... It has a Java application template that I think allows you to build Java based .net apps...
