icon New site...

Hi friends,

I was thinking about creating a new site...just like AndreaVB but related to a different programming language...maybe PHP.

since I have 5 subdomains for andreavb (and much space unused) I could create php.andreavb.com with the same features of www.andreavb.com

A forum, a download section, news and links...

what do you think about? do we have some PHP guru here?

In case of a forum for PHP developers do you think it should be separated from Visual Basic forum...I mean users of Visual Basic forum will be automatically users of php.andreavb of you'll have to register again??

kind regards,
Andrea Tincani

Can you have all the memebers here be members in a php forum, but keep the boards separate (i.e. two separate boards, just import the memberlist to the new one)?

Well, I surely aint that Guru you were asking about, but it is a good idea in general, maybe it will make me learn a new programming language.   As for the members stuff, maybe you should have one general main page, from where one can access vb or php area. This way you will have andreavb users, not php or vb, or any other...

I will work on it in the next days, I'd like to keep them separate, I'll use a different database to hold all the data...I could import all current users so I'll start a forum with more than 3000 users and no posts

I'l keep the look of andreavb but I'll name the site AndreaPHP...even if it's hosted in AndreaVB...maybe one day I could register a new primary domain so I'll keep data into two DBs...It will have links, forum, articles and news...and I'll try to start helping people coming in...

thanks,
keep helping and supporting me please...
