I would like to retireve the short pathname from a long pathname

If the path is "c:program filescommon files" (long pathname) I want to get something like this "c:progra~1common~1" (short pathname)

I need this to run a external commandline proggy.

I know how to to this in VB6, but not in VB.NET. PLZ help!
