Hi all,
What do you think of "scheduled" chat rooms where everyone gathers to chat and stuff.. I know the room is _always_ open, but what about scheduled times?
Thoughts?

did you mean that there should be somt time of countdown or scheduled events, or the chat should be closed and opened only for some hours a day?

For me, There must be schedule of chatting for members or GURU or MODERATOR. Like Meeting or Conference .

I don't think the room should be closed when no organised chat is in session, I think it should be available as now (although how much is it used, admin?)

Yeah, its seems to b a good idea... Cuz usually the chat room remains empty... So, if there was a specific timing, we might know exactly when we could get SPOT answers...
But, as in the AWARDS thread, theres something fishy here: WHOs GONNA SET THE TIME? Admin lives in Italy (i think i read that on the site somewhere, not sure). There r GURUs from everywhere on earth, from Phillipines to Serbia.... So, if a certain daytime is set by admin, it might be midnight some where else....  Even once a month would be hard for those ppl where it'd be 3:00AM at the rendezvous time

Good point on the times..
however,
we don't need all gurus at the same time.
scheduled chats could be done when enough gurus are available at a certain time:

e.g.
proposed times:
20:00 GMT
02:00 GMT
08:00 GMT

and so forth.

This forum script is an old tForum v0.92 adapted in the years with many customizations such as the last "Solved" topic thing.
The new versions of tForum implements a Calendar where users can add their own scheduling events. the difficult will be add the calendar functions to the forum adapting the new script with the old forum we have here...this would require time and testing...but if you think this is what we need I could start studying about it.
