hi all. what should i do, if i want to build a complete database system management? can you tell step by step please?

Hi,
As a pointer. look at my chess league system (andre4a vb link to chess download).
IMHO A complete DBMS system needs:
Indexing
Locking
Transactions

How far did you with to go down this route?
