URGENT: Deployment Problem [WinCE4.2/VS-2003/ActiveSync4.1]
Hi BigBrains,
Well I am again in need of your help sorry for bothering you guys, but can't help.
This time, I am developing a custom software which is suppose to run on Symbol MC1000 WinCE 4.2 device. The interesting part is that I cannot deploy to the above mentioned device, from my VSDotNet2003 IDE. I am connected through ActiveSync 4.1. I can explore my device files/folders of the device from my desktop, but when it comes to deploy from VS2003-IDE it's failing. Here is the error:
------ Deploy started: Project: PrototypeApplicationMC1000, Configuration: Debug Windows CE ------
Deploying to Windows CE .NET Device using TCP Connect Transport
Error: Cannot establish a connection. Be sure the device is physically connected to the development computer.
---------------------- Done ----------------------
Build: 1 succeeded, 0 failed, 0 skipped
Deploy: 0 succeeded, 1 failed, 0 skipped
Be sure the device is physically connected to the development computer.
Yes I am sure, as because Activesync is connected, and I can browse my device from my desktop.
Few more details...
In my IDE, under Tools Menu I can see a menu listing saying "Select Windows CE Device CPU". I came to know that Symbol MC1000 is ARM Based, so I tried all the ARM options listed there [infact I tried all the device architechture options], but no success
I found another option under Tools menu of my IDE saying: "Select Device Authentication Utility". There I tried to enter the IP of my device, but it is not detecting. I guess this option is optional, if I am connected through ActiveSync [correct me if I am wrong].
TCP Connect Transport settings:
Option Selected is: Obtain an IP address automatically using ActiveSync.
I tried disabling our corporate firewall client, Local Windows Firewall, Antivirus Services etc [ few more additional excercises ]
What is there that I am missing? Please help me out...
Thanks in advance,
Sanc1
