Hello !

Anybody can give its ideas in developing a programing application WAN{wide are network}

1.How they update and add their record
2. What is their strategy(e.g. How if someone using the database..Is their program says "that wait someone using the database..")
3. What type of database locking{optimistic,pessimistic}
4. How they improve to make it more reliable, easier, fast and so on.....

Sorry I don't have a very good ideas... i am lock of knowledge in WAN programming app. So i hope help me please because i know that not only me have not very good idea about this....

I hope everybody post their suggestions and it really appreciated...

it would depend on what the application is being used for....

like a customer record update, it's highly unlikely that 2 reps would be editing the same account at once, or even placing an order at once.

most of the data would most likely be views or additions, not edits.

But that's just in common applications that I'd see.

Of course then there's the "one db server" or "local db servers and common global db server" where some stores data, with updates at intervals....


really it depends on the setup of pretty much everything.
