icon ADO malfunction???

Hi guys,

I'm having trouble connecting my SQL Server 2000 database. It displays a message states that "SQL Server does not exist or access denied". As a result, I unable to use my ADO to perform the connection...

By the way, I've read through a number of forums and re-install my SQL Server 2000 but it's unsolvable...

Any idea to solve this problem...HELP...

Hi,
Make sure you've got your slashes the right way round.

Can you send a sample connection string that is failing?
Also, the name of the server that you are connecting to (and the IP address)
Can you ping the server?

Kieron

if you're echo(ping) works, then try to turn off your firewall or if you have any... (both your computer and the server).
