an amusing coding example
Hi everyone,
I am looking for some help.
But let me tell you the situation. I am taking a post-graduate course in teaching in the north-east of England and have been appalled by some of the quality of teaching and lack of organisation for the students ( I spent all my years in the financial, commercial I/T environment..)
I am currently engaged in teaching practice as part of the degree course and I have 8 lads (aged about 15/16) - half of whom want to go into networking and half into programming.
Because I have resigned from this college because of the utter chaos, I would still like to inspire these lads to greater things...
I know they are capable lads, and I want to set them on the road with a simple, effective and amusing example of a piece of code that they can step thru using VB studio, so that I can give them the outline of what is required and to get them started... To learn through osmosis if you like, to hit the deck running..
Could any of you code me an amusing (forms based) example which would both amuse them and is not too demanding of their understanding (max 30 lines of code)?
I would be forever in your debt...
there is one other fact. My last day is this Friday (12th Jan) so I would need it for Thursday 11th at the latest. I don't have the expertise to write a succint example (I taught Assemble for years for IMB Amdahl etc.. for 4 years, 20 years ago..)
If you can, you can contact me on wholding@gmail.com. I would like to know something about you too..so that I can acknowledge your example to them and to show the kids that self motivation can get them anything they want in the computing would...if only they put their mids to it...
Many thanks for reading this and for even considering the notion..
William
