We are attempting to type text into a textbox, control the line lengths, font, size and justification, then print the result to the screen without having a textbox around it (kind of like pagemaker or coreldraw), and then be able to click/edit/move the text at a later time, as well, and change all of the above parameters.

It is our understanding that API commands are the way to go. What we are finding is that line lengths do not translate from Textboxes to the screen. Various fonts look funny. So, we are having to create font char width tables. Seems absurd to me to have to do this for each font individually.
