Hi there

I've created an Access Database using Access 2000. However, when I connect the database in Visual Basic 6, it gives an error stating "Unrecognised database format".

I've created the exact same database with Access '97 and it works just fine. If I convert the Access '97 to Access 2000, I get the same error.

Does Visual Basic 6 have a problem connecting to Access 2000 databases? if so, is there a workaround?

Assuming you're using the ADO controls or such -- I think there was an update, or just an option in the properties you had to set for it to work properly.

If not using a control, you just have to use the more-current MDAC versions in the references -- but I think almost all of those would work.
