Does anybody have a recommendation for a good reference manual for VB 6.0.

Dunno whether there are any particularly great books on VB, I mostly get E-books of the internet and use forums/websites to get my answers, but if you want a reference book, why not get Microsofts own :-

what exactly are you seeking reference for?

api? activex? graphics?

not sure, but why don't you try devx.com, here's where you can find Bruce McKinney's Hardcore Visual Basic.
