Incidentally, I agree that communication is the biggest stumbling-block in off-shore/outsourced development. This may be due to language barriers and time zone barriers.
For example:
In the UK, we are notoriously "polite" and users are more likely to say "wouldn't it be nice if it could just do that.." rather than "this is a very important part of my acceptance of the system", my international colleagues find this most frustrating because they are used to a more direct approach.
Being unable to contact someone during the day can be most trying as you lose either the first half or latter half of the day, although scheduled meetings are important, spontaneous discussion builds relationships that aid communications and acceptance.

With outsourcing companies in general, I have noticed a very pot-luck approach to the development resources available. For the same man-price, one may have a senior developer or a junior fresh qualified from university.

I note with interest that your Agile company appears to adopt a non-agile approach to development - the plan is advertised as completely offshore with no interaction in the actual software until delivery. Maybe I misunderstand?

Ongoing support and maintenance is an issue, contacting responsible people, project managers being swapped out when more "important" projects are undertaken by the outsourcing company.. rant over

IMHO, Customers and users are the biggest bunch of back-seat coders ever to plague a development project, but most of them have some surprisingly concise opinions and suggestions to products - they just can't say it in the right way and need time and help to get it understood, which requires access to someone from 0830 to 1800 local time.

Hello. I grouped all mr. hanusoft's posts about offshore sw (whatever it is) together in one, as the matter of all is always the same.
As I'm not english like kieron I am less "polite" than him, so I'd suggest to mr. hanusoft to avoid using this forum to advertise his company. As another user noticed me, a tenth of posts with the same contents in a two-days sequence sounds like spam, and this is not the correct use of a forum.
So, according with the usual tolerance of our site, I didn't remove the posts of him at all, but grouped them into one single thread. But I also ask mr. hanusoft to stop posting this kind of messages: his profile's signature is enough to advertise himself, and if he really wants to increase his popularity here the best way is to use his programming skill to to help users with their programming obstacles. Instead, using this forum only for his own commercial purposes is a good way to reduce his popularity, like all spam methods.
Mr. hanusoft, from now on I hope to read you again only for helping newbies.
